Great write-up. Thanks! About Medium, here we go again! They're going to pivot and iterate their policies and business models into Tumblr-town. Tumblr who? Exactly!

First they nix the editors and now this?!

Now I'm one of those people that find Medium's Domain Authority convenient. But it's no big deal to me what Medium is trying to change. As I've been saying since day one, as long as you:

1) Follow their Rules [as much as they change],

2) Seek to be currated because in their eyes that's great content,

3) Tell stories well without sounding like an ad [true brand journalism],

4) Learn the complete skill stack of a high-earning writer [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTUFaCz7Lkc ]

. . . you'll be A-okay!

I've had plenty of articles that rank to page #1 of Google for a competitive keyword that are NOT on Medium.

Medium is the flaming zeppelin going down. I hope you've all milked it for what it's worth and continue to not be dependent on it. I have a lot of chums here that build their whole business around writing on it. (Well, that and selling courses about how to make money exclusively on Medium.) Word to the wise:

Never build your empire on someone else's land!

Diversify your writing income, learn to improve different skill stacks beyond writing that will augment your income, and learn how to tell a good story!
